Tidal Bore Rafting Tours |
Our main focus is on providing safe, affordable boating excursions and on sharing the natural wonders and beauty of the Shubenacadie River. We keep our fees low because we do not operate out of a lodge and we do not supply extended food services but we do supply some river-side drinks and snacks at the end of our tours. Our experienced guides will provide a top quality boating experience on the river and this is what we charge for. Our guides will tailor your trip to the preferences of your group. A wild ride that gets your adrenaline pumping? A more relaxed trip with less adrenaline? |
|
We depart from scenic South Maitland Nova Scotia.
Or a mixture of both? The choice is yours. We do supply some snacks at the end of your trip, but you might want to bring along a lunch, as 3 or more hours on the river can build quite an appetite. You should also bring along a full water bottle. Of course a towel and a change of clothes is a must! There are local restaurants and Inns in the area for lunching and lodging. |
*Please arrive at the departure site either on or before the designated time. Just like the tide, we cannot wait for late arrivals. Note that we raft rain or shine but reserve the right to cancel tours in the event of bad weather and events beyond our control. Please contact us for details. |
Check List of what to bring:
• | Towel (you will get wet with muddy water) |
• | Change of clothes |
• | Secure foot ware (no flip flops or crocs as they come off too easily and will be lost to the river - we don't want to pollute this pristine environment) |
• | If you want to wear a cap, or glasses, or sunglasses, make sure they are well secured or they will get washed away when waves crest over the raft. Everything you take will get wet, so cameras etc. should be left on shore (your guide will have a water-tight container for valuables that can't be left behind) |
• | Lunch, if you want, and a full water bottle (to be left on shore for after the trip) |
What we supply: | |
• | An experienced, safety-orientated guide who is familiar with the natural ecosystems you will be boating through |
• | Life jackets for all guests (if you want to bring your own please check with us to make sure it meets government whitewater safety guidelines) |
• | We do have some rain jackets on hand |
• | A portable change area |
• | Snacks for after the trip |
• | A very memorable adventure! |
Please Note: There is no bath room on site, but there are rest room facilities at the nearby Fundy Tidal Interpretive Center. The Interpretive Center is well worth a visit - they charge a modest entry fee which covers entry to their exhibits, trails, and river look-off. |
